We are seeking a WordPress Developer responsible for both back-end and front-end development, including creating WordPress themes and plugins. This position requires a combination of programming skills (namely PHP, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript) and aesthetics (understanding element arrangements on the screen, the color and font choices, and so on). The candidate should have a strong understanding of industry trends and content management systems. Experience with responsive and adaptive design is strongly preferred. Also, an understanding of the entire web development process, including design, development, and deployment is preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Be able to take visual designs in Figma with written specifications and turn those into semantic html/css/js that is reusable, scalable, performant, accessible and work on all major browsers
- We love to create experiences on our pages. We leverage CSS and JavaScript animation to make our pages come alive- Be able to create reusable Gutenberg blocks that allow clients and product team to enter content and customize the components.
- Develop a reusable component/block library for WordPress that is reusable across client projects
Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience as a Wordpress front-end developer.
- Strong portfolio of Wordpress sites.
- Strong understanding of HTML and CSS including cross-browser compatibility and performance.
- Ability to write modern and performant JavaScript using the latest technologies.
- Experience working remotely.
- Comfortable interpreting designs and/or specifications and thinking through the best approach to adapting it to code.
- A solid understanding of good UX and UI practices for websites.
- Familiarity with Figma.
- Experience with WordPress and Gutenberg with building out custom blocks.
- Experience with WP Engine.
- Experience with Wordpress plugins.
- Experience working with component systems.
- Estimating work for a project and taking specs and turning into clearly defined, executable tasks.
