Senior Material Artist Full-time

Volmi — A Virtuos Studio is an outsourcing company that specializes in game development and game content creation. Over the past 9 years, we have successfully completed over a thousand different projects and have gained considerable experience in creating 2D and 3D art, as well as developing turnkey games. Since 2022, we have been a part of Virtuos, the world’s leading game developer, and have become the first Virtuos studio in Eastern Europe.

In particular, we have contributed to the development of popular games such as Diablo 2: Resurrected, Metro Exodus, Sniper: Ghost Warrior Contracts 2, Smite, Paladins, Gwent: The Witcher Card Game, and Marvel Snap. Therefore our team creates high-end gaming content and games for various Mobile, PC, Console, and VR projects.

We invite an experienced Material Artist to join our team and conquer new heights with us!

What are you working on?
  • Platforms: PC, Console
For which tasks (responsibilities)?
  • Lead material creation expertise within the company, ensuring top quality from both artistic and technical perspectives.

  • Maintain clear communication with clients regarding materials and textures.

  • Mentor and support material artists, helping them improve their skills.

  • Develop and maintain internal material documentation.

  • Create high-quality, tileable textures in Substance Designer based on provided references.

  • Design and optimize Layered and Master Materials in Unreal Engine.

  • Implement and fine-tune materials in Unreal Engine.

  • Assist junior artists with simpler tasks.

  • Collaborate daily with the Art Director, Producer, and Lead Artist.

  • Work closely with clients to meet asset quality expectations.

What kind of professional are we looking for?
  • Solid knowledge of Substance Designer software.

  • Intermediate knowledge of Substance Painter software.

  • Experience in Tiled Textures creating.

  • Understanding of Layered Materials workflow.

  • Full understanding PBR workflow.

  • Experience working with UE 5.x including broad range of shader creation technics (node based, not code).

  • Basic knowledge of any industry 3D software.

  • Ability to digest the feedback and find most important points.

  • Ability to share knowledge in understandable form.

  • At least В2 English level.

Will be a plus:

  • Art Degree.

  • Skill in traditional modeling (LP+HP).

  • Passionate player with solid understanding modern game industry standards.

  • Tech understanding of shader optimization pipeline in UE 5.x.

  • Ability to share knowledge, docs creation.

  • 2+ years working as material artist.
