Holmgard Games, was established in mid-2020 when a team of like-minded veterans in the gaming industry, who had worked on hit titles such as League of Legends, Call of Duty, Last of Us, and World of Tanks, fueled by our love for gaming came together to create a game that would encompass all of our experience as developers and gamers. We're seeking a talented mid level ( we're open to junior level as well )_ C++ Programmer to join our remote team and collaborate closely with our Code and Art leads to work on Unreal 5 based first person realistic shooter, with focus ( but not limited to ) implementing and integrating with game code and backend UMG-based user interfaces. The ideal candidate will have experience developing gameplay blueprints and UI systems in Unreal Engine and integrating with C++ backend code, proficiency in C++, and a strong understanding of best practices for creating interactive and intuitive interfaces.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and integrate UMG user interfaces in Unreal Engine 5.
Collaborate with the Art Lead to ensure the UI aligns with artistic vision and game design requirements.
Optimize and debug UI systems for performance and usability.
Help team with various gameplay tasks and bug fixes
Requirements:
1-2 years of proven experience with C++ and Unreal Engine
Experience in user interface development with UMG
Ability to work remotely and communicate effectively
Prototyping, documenting, and problem-solving
Bonus requirements:
Experience with Slate and developing custom widgets for UMG
Solid 3D math and linear algebra knowledge
Some basic knowledge of SQL
Experience in first-person shooters at least as a player
