An FX Artist on the WOWS PC project is a position that combines both technical and artistic responsibilities. As a VFX Artist, you will be responsible for creating dynamic and visually appealing visual effects for World of Warships. Our artists develop unique effects for new content, as well as provide support and improvements for existing content. You will work closely with the Visual team, game designers, and Tech teams to ensure that the VFX integrates seamlessly into the gameplay and enhances the overall player experience. Your role will involve conceptualizing, creating, and implementing a variety of effects, including environmental, fire and explosions, and weapon effects, both realistic and stylized.
Design and configure visual effects in the World of Warship's proprietary editor
Create textures and optimize VFX
Resolve all related technical and creative issues, both within the team and with related teams
Experience in working with particle systems
Experience in working with game engines
Understanding of basic physics principles, knowledge of the general principles of dynamics, pyrotechnics, and creation of FX, such as fire, magic, smoke, gunfire, water, steam, explosions, dust, etc.
Experience with Adobe Photoshop and Substance Designer
Experience with Houdini FX, Embergen or similar software for simulating fire/fluids
Experience with 3D modeling instruments such as Blender, Maya
Shader development
Artistic taste
Experience in creating weather and lighting for games
Interest in computer games
