We are looking for a remote web developer/system administrator to work on web applications and maintain existing websites written on the PHP stack using the Laravel Framework wih Vue.js.

This job can offer a multitude of entry to mid-level technical tasks: from programming to Linux, Web server & MySQL DB administration/tuning.

This role is for someone who is not looking for cutting edge tech, but wanting a stable employment with diverse tech tasks.

Candidate must be able to work independently and with minimal supervision. As a member of the Tech team you will be expected to work independently to meet project deadlines.

Core hours are not mandated, but candidate must be available to attend scheduled project meetings that take place during regular work hours (MSK, Russia Time Zone and sometimes USA EST time zone).

Sysadmin duties:

• Regular upgrades, installations of tools, scripts and software patches (for example: PHP, MariaDB, PHP, Apache, Laravel etc.);
• Periodic monitoring and optimization for MySQL and Apache web server performance and identify bottlenecks;
• Cloudflare firewall maintenance and ongoing use to ensure website security and DDOS prevention;

Developer duties:

• Maintaining and (in some cases) upgrading the existing code base for internally built order processing & CRM system, built on a tech stack: Perl CGI, PHP, MariaDB MySQL on Linux;
• Develop additional features within existing code base;

Desired skills:

• Working knowledge of Unix or Linux OS (command line, scripting etc.)
• Some experience with Perl CGI programming (to maintain/update some older code);
• PHP programming experience;
• Interest in software firewall and web security;
• Some experience with MySQL performance tuning or optimization;
